EMPLOYMENT

We have some paid medical personnel to supplement our volunteers. If you are interested in employment, request an application, complete it, and turn it into our EMS Director.

VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED

MEDICAL STAFF: We always are interested in having more medical staff join our department. We provide training and encouragement. An on-line CE program will be available shortly. Regular live training sessions are conducted at our meetings. We have free web based email for our members. We have wireless internet access at our station for member use. We pay a gas allowance on POV based calls. You can run as a First Responder and/or on a scheduled shift basis. We have well equipped and furnished crew quarters for medical staff who post at our station, including bunk beds in separate rooms, TV, refrigerator, shower facility, etc.

NBCEMS holds some in-house continuing education programs and certification training. We have a "sister" relationship with Bulverde/Spring Branch EMS and their Training Academy, which provides a wide array of EMS medical training for our department. Members have access to our Training Resources within the Member Section of this web site. We also have a community education and public awareness program. Through CPR training, school tours & programs, and an annual display at the County Fair and Rodeo, we do our best to ensure that the community knows how to "Make the Right Call".

NON-MEDICAL STAFF: We have a very active group on non-medical volunteers who assist with the administrative needs of this organization. If you are interested in pursuing this, please contact our Director. Thank you for considering helping your community.

NOTE: We have volunteers who travel from nearby towns to volunteer with us. Don't let a few miles get in the way of a great relationship.

EQUIPMENT

Stay tuned for pictures of our equipment, including our new Medtec 320 ambulance due at our station in late February. Art & Margie will travel to Medtec in Indiana to inspect it and drive it home to Johnson City. The unit has all of the latest features and will be a most welcome addition to our fleet and our ability to serve our community.
